AML Check of a Crypto Wallet Address in Telegram
How to check a crypto address for AML risk in Telegram: a 0–100 score, risk categories and an OFAC match. $1 per check, shown before you pay.

Contents
An AML check of a wallet address shows how closely it is linked to risky sources such as sanctions, scams, darknet markets or mixers. In the Matrimix wallet in Telegram you run it from "Services" → "Address AML check": pick a coin and network, paste the address, and you get a risk level, a score out of 100 and the risk categories behind it. A check costs $1 from your wallet balance, and the price is shown before you pay, while screening against the OFAC sanctions list is included for free.
Why check an address
- Before you accept funds. If a buyer, client or P2P counterparty is about to send you USDT, check the sender's address first. Exchanges often freeze coins that carry a high risk score.
- Before you send to an exchange. Check the address the coins arrived at, so you know what the exchange's compliance team is likely to see.
- After an unexpected deposit. If something you did not expect lands on your address, find out before you move it on.
Why exchanges freeze coins and what to do about it is covered in Frozen coins on an exchange.
How to check an address in Matrimix
- Open the wallet in Telegram and go to "Services" → "Address AML check".
- Under "Coin and network to check", choose, for example, USDT TRC20.
- Choose what you check: "Check the current address" for your own deposit address (main, extra or private), or "AML check of the sender" for someone else's address you will receive from. Paste that one into the "Sender address" field.
- Read the price line: "Paid: $1 per address. Repeating the same check within 60 min is free."
- Tap "Check". The fee is charged from your wallet balance, and you can pick which coin pays it.
The same sender check is available on every coin screen. All results stay in "Check history".
How to read the result
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Risk: low / medium / high / critical | The overall level reported by the analytics service |
| "Score N of 100" | The higher the score, the stronger the address's links to risky sources |
| Owner | The named service or entity the address belongs to, when it is known (an exchange, a wallet, a mixer) |
| "Address connections" | A breakdown of the funds by source, each with its share in percent, sorted from the largest down |
| "Less than 0.1%" | A list of minor sources whose share is too small to show a separate line |
| "Sanctions lists (OFAC): no match" | The address is not on the OFAC SDN list |
Only the fields the service actually returned are shown; empty rows are hidden rather than left as dashes. You can see worked examples for several networks on the AML check page.
A rough guide: low risk is an ordinary address; medium means ask the counterparty where the funds came from; high or critical, or a sanctions match, means you should usually walk away from the deal. The decision to accept funds is always yours.
Price and limits
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Risk score of an address | $1 per check, shown before you pay |
| Repeating the same check within 60 minutes | Free, cached result |
| OFAC sanctions screening | Free, included in every check |
| Limit | 10 checks per user per day; under heavy load checks can pause until the next day |
| If the analytics service does not answer | Nothing is charged |
In short: you only pay for a result you actually receive.
Free sanctions screening is also built into the exchange: there is a "Check the sending address" button before you create an order, and Matrimix screens every payout and refund address against the OFAC list automatically. Our approach is described in the AML policy.
Supported networks
| Asset | Networks |
|---|---|
| USDT | TRC20, ERC20, BEP20 |
| USDC | ERC20 |
| Native coins | BTC, ETH, TRX, BNB, SOL, LTC, XRP |
Some networks cannot be scored. Monero and Zcash hide the transaction graph (Monero masks amounts and addresses at the protocol level; shielded Zcash addresses are not analysable), and a few networks such as TON, Dogecoin and Bitcoin Cash are not yet covered by the analytics providers. In all of these cases the wallet says so plainly instead of charging you: "AML check is not available for this network."
Good to know
- The score is reference data. It is third-party analytics at the moment of the check, not legal advice. Another exchange may use a different vendor and see a different result, so treat the score as a well-informed second opinion.
- Risk changes over time. An address with no labels today can get one tomorrow. A fresh check before every large deal takes a minute.
- A check informs your decision. It helps you decide whether to accept funds; it does not lift restrictions an exchange may apply.
- Only the public address is needed. Never enter a seed phrase or a private key anywhere — the check never asks for them.

FAQ
Is there a free AML check?
Screening an address against the OFAC sanctions list is free in Matrimix, both in the exchange and inside the paid check. The full risk score with categories costs $1, and repeating it within 60 minutes is free.
How do I check a USDT TRC20 wallet?
In "Services" → "Address AML check", choose USDT TRC20, then your own address or "AML check of the sender" with someone else's address, and tap "Check". You only need the public address starting with T.
What if an address shows high risk?
Do not accept funds from it, or ask the counterparty to prove the source. If the coins have already arrived, do not forward them to an exchange before you understand the situation, and contact support.
