A travel eSIM works on any phone with eSIM support that is not locked to a carrier. Check the list below or test your phone in 30 seconds.
How to check your phone
- Dial *#06#. If you see an EID line, the phone has an eSIM chip.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service (Cellular) → Add eSIM. If the option is there, eSIM is supported.
- Android: Settings → Connections (Network & internet) → SIM manager → Add eSIM; menu names differ by brand.

Versions made for some markets have no eSIM: for example, most iPhones sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao and some Android models for China and Korea. Check with *#06# or in the settings.
A phone locked to a carrier will not accept another eSIM: ask your carrier to unlock it before the trip.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. A carrier-locked phone accepts only that carrier's eSIMs. Your carrier removes the lock.
Can I keep my main SIM?
Yes. Phones with eSIM work with two lines: keep your home SIM for calls and bank SMS and use the eSIM for mobile data.
Does an eSIM work on a smartwatch or a laptop?
Our travel plans are made for phones and tablets with eSIM. Smartwatch eSIMs are tied to your home carrier and are not supported.
