To exchange BTC to XMR without registration, open the BTC to XMR page on Matrimix, compare the routes, enter your Monero address and a Bitcoin refund address, then send BTC to the signed deposit address. Matrimix is a non-custodial crypto exchange aggregator and a wallet in Telegram: swaps need no account, and every address is screened against sanctions lists.

Why people swap BTC to Monero

Bitcoin is transparent: every transaction and balance is visible on a public ledger. Monero hides amounts and addresses by default, much like cash. People move into XMR for financial confidentiality — to keep their salary, savings or business payments away from public analysis, not to break rules.

Matrimix supports this as an ordinary exchange. Prohibited use is listed in the Terms, and addresses linked to sanctions are refused.

Step by step on Matrimix

StepWhat you doWhat Matrimix does
1Open /swap/btc-to-xmr and enter the BTC amountRequests quotes from about a dozen providers and atomic-swap routes
2Pick a routeShows the full cost of each route before you commit
3Enter your XMR address and a BTC refund addressChecks the address format and screens both addresses against the OFAC SDN list
4Confirm the orderIssues a deposit address signed by Matrimix
5Send BTC from a wallet you controlTracks the order on a self-refreshing status page
6Wait for the payoutXMR goes straight from the executing exchange to your address

No e-mail, phone or ID is asked at any step. You don't need JavaScript either: the site works as plain pages.

What the quote shows

Each route in the list shows what you actually receive, not a headline rate. The quote combines:

  • the provider's spread against the market rate;
  • network fees for the swap;
  • the Matrimix fee.

You see the final XMR amount, the rate type (fixed or floating) and, for fixed rates, how long the amount stays locked. The general fee structure is on /fees; the exact figures for your swap are shown before you confirm.

Check your XMR address format

A typo in the payout address is the most common way people lose money on a swap, and transactions are irreversible. Matrimix checks the structure of the Monero address before it creates an order:

  • a standard address starts with 4 and is 95 characters long;
  • a subaddress starts with 8 and is also 95 characters;
  • an integrated address starts with 4 and is 106 characters.

Monero's checksum can't be fully verified on our side, so copy the address from your wallet with the copy button and compare the first and last characters. For the Bitcoin refund address, the checksum is verified (bech32, bech32m or base58check).

How long a BTC to XMR swap takes

Timing depends on three things:

  1. Bitcoin confirmations. Blocks arrive about every 10 minutes on average, and providers wait for their required number of confirmations. A low network fee can delay the first one.
  2. The provider. Each exchange processes deposits at its own pace.
  3. The Monero payout. After the provider sends XMR, your wallet needs to sync and see the transaction.

The order page shows each stage: deposit seen, exchanging, sending. You can check provider availability on /status before you start.

Refunds

Always enter a refund address you control. If a swap can't complete — for example the deposit arrives late or below the minimum — it is refunded to that BTC address.

One exception to know: if the executing exchange holds a deposit for a compliance (AML) review, that exchange handles the refund itself, sends it only to the address you paid from, and it can take several days. That is why you should pay from your own wallet, not from an account at another exchange. Coins can also be frozen at third-party exchanges, which is a risk to keep in mind.

Sanctions screening

Every destination and refund address is screened against the OFAC SDN sanctions list, which Matrimix updates every 12 hours. A match means the order is refused. Screening happens automatically and does not require any personal data from you. Details are in the AML policy.

FAQ

Do I need an account to swap BTC to XMR?

No. You choose the pair, enter your Monero and refund addresses, and send BTC. No registration, e-mail or ID is required.

Does Matrimix hold my coins during the swap?

No. On a regular swap the XMR goes from the executing exchange or atomic swap straight to your address. Matrimix never holds the funds.

How do I know the deposit address is genuine?

Deposit addresses are signed by Matrimix. You can verify the signature with the public key, as explained on /security, which protects you from phishing clones.
